Blue Ridge Rural Water Company (BRRWC) is a member-owned, not for profit water system that encompasses 145 square miles of beautiful Upstate South Carolina. Since 1971, we have been purchasing and treating water to provide our customers with the safest drinking water scientifically possible. Through the years, we have grown to operate 4 separate water systems. We currently treat water from our Cliffs at Glassy and Cliffs Valley North systems and serve over 11,000 customers through Blue Ridge Water, The Cliffs at Glassy, Cliffs Valley North, and a bottled water system. With over 500 miles of pipeline. The system growth rate per year is 4.5 percent. We are constantly improving and expanding our system to support the projected economic growth in our district.

Our improvements and expansions are managed by our General Manager, who handles the day-to-day operations of the Company. Under the leadership of the General Manager and a nine-member Board of Directors, who are elected annually on staggered terms by the members of the general system, we actively search for new water resources with the goal of increasing our daily water storage capacity to 3 million gallons a day by the year 2010. This fifty percent increase will allow us to accommodate the tremendous growth potential in our service area. Blue Ridge Rural Water Company is a 501 non-taxable entity organized under Chapter 36 of the State of South Carolina laws. The Company has the power of imminent domain and can participate in all state programs and qualifies for grants and federal loans.

QUALITY ON TAP

Quality on Tap is a nationwide, grassroots public relations and awareness campaign designed for the drinking water industry. Quality on Tap is the first hands on guide to better public relations for small water utilities. It contains the tools necessary for small utilities to inform the public about the quality of the work they do and the quality of the water they produce.
