Temporary Change in Disinfectant Notice
During the months of January and February a temporary change in the disinfectant used in the water treatment process will take place. Both water supplies for Blue Ridge Water will be using chlorine rather than chloramines during this period. Customers may notice a slight change in the taste or smell of their tap water. The mild chlorine taste and smell is normal and poses no health risk. Most customers will not need to take any precautions as the water remains safe to drink and is treated according to both state and federal standards. People and businesses that normally take special precautions to remove chloramines from tap water, such as dialysis centers, medical facilities and aquatic pet owners, should continue to take the same precautions during the temporary switch from chloramines to free chlorine.

Automatic Meter Reading System

Blue Ridge Rural Water Company Meter Reader News Blue Ridge Rural Water Company (BRRWC) has begun the implementation of an automatic meter reading system. The estimated completion time will be approximately five (5) years. This will assure accuracy in reading of meters and also of consumption, therefore being a benefit to our customers and our company in correct billings.

Please make note that Meter Tampering is a state offense and is taken very seriously due to the fact that BRRWC is owned by its customers. Because the company purchases water from Greer Commission of Public Works and Greenville Water System it is necessary to account for all usage of water.

The BRRWC offers, at no expense to you, several alternate payment options other than traditional accounts such as account prepayment and bank draft. Please refer to the Services Page for information and downloadable form.
